Dr. Hiltner provides individual therapy to adults both in-person in Arnold, Maryland and via telehealth (online). She specializes in working with trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, panic, and issues unique to Veterans and Military Service Members. She also works with grief and loss, stress and adjustment difficulties, and Federal employees and civilians. She has experience helping adults with combat and/or deployment-related trauma, sexual trauma, including military sexual trauma, childhood trauma, complex trauma, and non-military trauma. Dr. Hiltner cared for Veterans at the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Fort Detrick VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic. She also helped military service members at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, as well as service members and dependents at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, CA. Her integrated approach to therapy is typically grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy, while remaining client-specific, flexible, considerate of scientific literature, and guided by the client’s feedback and response to interventions. She strives to foster a non-judgmental environment and a strong therapeutic relationship where genuine empathy, concern, and compassion are conveyed.
