A nonprofit, community based healthcare organization that owns and operates seven major hospitals and other healthcare services in the Baltimore/Washington area. The hospitals include both teaching and community facilities. One of the largest employers in the region, MedStar is based in Columbia and is one of the largest hospital systems in the Mid-Atlantic region.
